When a woman becomes a mother then it is very sensitive as taking care of all the needs of a new born is a herculean task. One needs to be very careful with the new born baby and especially with their food items. As it should be provided with all the care and food should be soft, easy to consume and digest. The food which is given to the baby should have nutrients so that they could help in the growth of the baby.
1. Breast Milk
This milk comes from the body of the mother. This has all the nutrients which a baby needs to have. This is one of the main constituent of the diet of baby until the baby completes a year. Some of the babies take smaller quantity of it but after short intervals and other take huge quantity and takes after long duration. Whenever the baby feels hungry they ask for the milk. It is thing and easy to digest (1).
One can mix the one tablespoon of the single grain which is iron fortified cereal along with 4 tablespoon of breast milk. One can give it to the baby with the small spoon one or two times a day by making the baby sit upright. One can give it to the baby after giving the feed with bottle or breast feeding. When the baby gets the habit of taking the cereal then one can give the cereal with less liquid and slowly one can increase the intake of the baby. One can give the baby different cereals such as oatmeal, rice or barley (2).
3. Dairy Products
It is not advisable to give the baby Cow milk but it would be fine to give them dairy products such as cheese and yogurt. When the baby attains the age of around 12 months it could be taken by them so as to cover the additional need of the dairy.
The frozen fruits such as mangoes, bananas, blueberries, raspberries etc could be given to the babies by mashing it. One can keep the same with self and could give the babies at all the times. It would provide the nutrients and energy to the babies (4).
5. Frozen Vegetables
The vegetables like corn, spinach, peas, broccoli etc could be given to the babies in the mashed form. With the convenience it would be healthy for the baby as it provides various minerals and nutrients for the growth of the baby (5).
6. Foods Rich In Iron
The foods which have high content of iron like eggs, fish, beans etc. The iron could be taken from two sources such as animal source and vegetarian source. This would give them strength and helps in the growth of the baby (6).
7. Apple Puree
One can steam the apple and then grind them. After grinding make it into the thin consistency and could be given to the baby with spoon. This would be delicious and the baby would love to have it and also gives lot of iron (7).
8. Pear Puree
One can cut the pear in the pieces and could steam it in water on simmer flame. Then blend this in the blender and make the desired consistency. One can add water into it to blend it as desired. Then it could be given to the baby (8).
9. Potato Puree
One can mash the boiled potato with the masher and can give it to the babies. For the flavor one can add little lemon juice into it (9).
10. Sweet Potato Puree
In the preheated oven roast the sweet potato until it become soft. Once it become soft removes the flesh from it and blends this into the desired consistency. Then it could be given to the baby (10).
